Geilo Ski school offers alpine group lessons for children (from 5 years old) and adults, every week Monday-Thursday. Our groups are small
and we offer 4 levels, from beginner to advanced. All courses is tailored to the student’s skill level and abilities. Group ski school is perfect for those who like to learn together with others. Geilo Ski school also offer a cross country course for beginners, Monday-Wednesday.
The instructors have the education, patience and the personality to get your child on the slopes and keep them smiling throughout your Geilo ski holiday. Your child will experience the thrill of the slopes, learning and starting a lifelong passion for skiing. “Learning by doing”
In our youth and adult groups we will focus more on technical terms and techniques but we still play and enjoy the social aspects of skiing.
We reserve the right to place the students into other groups or offer an alternative product, when fewer than 4 students per group.
For children age 2-4 years old we offer Kids private tuition, 40 min.
This is because we belive this service will give a faster progression and a safer environment for learning.

Join us on KiDs SKi fUN
KiDs SKi fUN – We ski forest trails, terrain waves, slalom gates and for those who like, we will ski jumps and rails in the snow park.
Here, it’s all about having fun, while skiing in a safe environment. You get the chance to meet and ski with other children, improve your skiing and above all – We will have fun!
We also take a well-deserved break at SlaattaStugu with a hot chocolate and home-baked Slaattabolle. This is included in the price.
Fun and exciting skiing for children who can ski green/ blue slopes and take the lifts by themselves.

Alpine skiplay 3-4 years
Level 1/2 – Beginner & some experience. Snowplay with and without skis
Not all children have developed their motor skills fully, or possess the strength to hold a snow plough and turn. Therefor we focus on creating a positive experience on snow so that the children want to ski for many years to come.
During the week we play a lot of snow games and we have fun using the different features in the children´s area. With fun games we train to handle the skis; slide, brake, turn and use the children´s lift on the nursery slopes. We take breaks without skis, where we play and have fun on the snow.
It´s important that your child is able to be away from Mum and Dad during the lessons.

Alpine ski school 5-6 years
Level 1 – White
Beginner ski course for children who have not skied before or who do not have full control of turning and braking. A beginner course, focussed on play and fun. We coach the children to handle the skis, slide, brake, turn and use the lift on the nursery slopes.
Level 2 – Green
Continuing ski course for children who can take the button lift, turn and brake on the easier slopes. With fun exercises we improve and find balance in skiing to improve speed control and become more secure on various terrains.
Level 3 – Blue
Advanced ski course for children who can ski with good flow and controlled speed on various terrains and take longer lifts alone. We improve our skiing technique, work on increasing speed and improving balance in all type of terrain.

Level 1 – White
Beginner ski course for children who have not skied before or who do not have full control of turning and braking. A beginner course, focussed on play and fun. We coach the children to handle the skis, slide, brake, turn and use the lift on the nursery slopes.

Continuing ski course for children who can take the button lift, turn and brake on the easier slopes. With fun exercises we improve and find balance in skiing to improve speed control and become more secure on various terrains.

Intermediate ski course for children who can ski strong turns with good speed on various terrains. We develop techniques to enjoy fun skiing and ensure safety on the slopes. We try parallel skiing and we focus on improve flow and control.
Level 4 – Red
Advanced ski course full of variety and fast-paces skiing. This course is for children who ski parallel with controlled turns on challenging slopes. We learn to exploit the skis better in high speed and challenging terrain to improve technique and rhythm.

ADULT - Alpine from 14 years
Level 1 – White
Beginner ski course for you who wish to learn the basic skills of skiing. We help you to get the confidence in skiing by working on gliding, braking, turning and taking the lift.
Level 2 – Green
Continuing ski course for you who know the basics of skiing. Take the button lift, turn and brake on the easier slopes. We work on improving our skills when turning and breaking. Using techniques and exercises to develop and improve our flow and control.
Level 3 – Blue
Intermediate ski course for you who can ski strong turns with good speed on various terrains. We develop our technique to enjoy fun skiing and ensure safety on the slopes. We focus on keeping our skis parallel and improving our flow and control.
Level 4 – Red
An advanced ski course full of variety and fast-paced skiing. This course is for you who ski parallel with controlled turns on challenging slopes. We develop our technique by skiing on varied slopes and challenging terrain. We ski parallel and focus on speed and rhythm.

Cross country beginner group course Monday-Wednesday
A 3-day course for those who have never tried or lack confidence on cross country skis.
You will learn the basic techniques of classic cross country skiing and we will finish off the course with a trip up the mountain* with stunning views and freshly groomed tracks.
Monday at 13.30-15.20 Basic training
Tuesday at 15.00-16.20 Technical training
Wednesday at 13.00 Guided cross-country tour 2,5-3h (incl. ev. transport)
Price also includes a snack, drink (and transport if needed) on Wednesday.
